A pinch valve is a full-bore linear action valve designed to control or shut off abrasive, corrosive, or slurry media. It operates by pinching a flexible rubber or elastomeric sleeve using a mechanical or pneumatic mechanism to restrict fluid flow.
Pinch valves offer a straight-through, full-port flow path with zero dead space, preventing clogs, scaling, or solids accumulation. Because only the elastomeric sleeve contacts the working fluid, mechanical components are completely isolated from wear and corrosion.
Pinch valves are widely utilized in mining, wastewater treatment, chemical processing, pulp and paper, cement manufacturing, pneumatic conveying, and pharmaceutical industries for handling abrasive slurries, powders, and viscous liquids.
